Track habituated chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park—home to the highest concentration of primates in East Africa—then explore the biodiversity-rich Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed eco-tourism success story.

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Upon arrival in Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your Travad Tours guide and begin your journey to western Uganda. You will arrive at Kibale Forest in the evening, where you check into your lodge and relax as you prepare for the next day’s chimpanzee experience.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking Experience – Kibale Forest

 After an early breakfast, proceed to Kibale Forest for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers before beginning your chimpanzee tracking experience. Trek through the tropical rainforest in search of habituated chimpanzee families and spend time observing their behavior in their natural habitat. The forest is also home to other primates and bird species, making the experience both exciting and diverse. Return to your lodge in the afternoon for relaxation and an optional nature walk or community visit.

Day 3: Bigodi Wetland Experience & Departure

 Start your day with breakfast before heading to the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed conservation area rich in birdlife, primates, and lush vegetation. Enjoy a guided nature walk led by local experts who will introduce you to medicinal plants, cultural traditions, and the importance of wetland conservation. After the experience, begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe for your afternoon departure, with a stop for lunch en route.
